Channeling my inner Greek Goddess.

I sadly don’t have any pictures from my wedding dress adventure last night for you all, but I find that to be a good thing, since Travis hops on here every once in awhile. He actually called me last night, before my appointment and said, “Do I get to see the dress?” and that I won’t be able to hide it from him and sometimes the guys go with. Boys.
We did make progress in the wedding dress department. My Maid of Honor, my Mom and my Aunt all went to a little boutique where I tried on about ten dresses. Nine of them, I said right away… I hate it. They were all gorgeous dresses, but I just didn’t like them on me. There was one empire dress that I did like. It is not “the one”, but I did like it and loved the style. Everyone kept putting me in big poufy dresses, which I thought I’d love, but I hate them. That’s just not me.
My maid of honor said the most perfect thing when I put the first big ruffly dress on… it’s too barbie-ish, you’re not barbie, and you’re not a princess… you’re like a greek goddess. So that’s the look I’m looking for, Greek Goddess. (Which is funny because my favorite movie is Troy.) My aunt said, “So Travis isn’t Prince Charming?“. My response, “He’s a Greek God!“. I said that statement with such power too. Priceless moments.
Here is the dress that I liked. The picture does not do it any justice at all and forget that shawl. I liked the dress, but it was missing something on the top. The way the bottom laid was gorgeous.

My Maid of Honor is a genius though, even though she forced me to try on a veil. (which she hated, just like I said she would.) I will be wearing a silver headband (hopefully) which plays into the whole goddess look. I guess I’ll be the forest goddess with my woodland themed wedding.
After trying on a bunch of empire dresses at this boutique, they were all missing something at the top or the bottom of the dress was just flat and not flowy. They always brought me back to thinking about this dress.

Which is IMPOSSIBLE to find. I have called every boutique within a 75 mile radius, and nobody has it. The boutique I was at last night, I would have to actually buy the dress to try it on. I did find a place an hour away, that has this dress below in stock…

She said I should come in and try it on (it’s gorgeous!) and if I like it, but still want to try on the previous dress, that it will only cost me $75 to get it shipped to the store. This is where the teasing comes in. I share A LOT on this little blog of mine, but I know where to draw the line. When I DO find the dress, I won’t be sharing which dress I have chose. You will all have to wait until I post wedding pictures, over 350 days from now. I could go the greek goddess route or I could go an entirely different direction and fall in love with a big poufy dress. You’re welcome for the suspense!
