Why Camping With The Fugowee Tribe Is Awesome.

Because I miss camping season, this post happened.
To start this post off, I guess I should explain what the Fugowee Tribe is and then get into why it/they are awesome.
Fugowee Tribe [Fu-Gow-Ee]: A bunch of crazies camping in the woods with beer, rafts and awesome times. Fugowee comes from the joke about an Indian – and the word itself should be in a game of Mad Gab. Start saying “Where The Fugowee” multiple times in different ways, like the game Mad Gab. Give up?
Answer: “Where the F**k are we?!”
Now there are multiple ways to spell Fugowee. The most popular being Fugawi, like that new tv show about some biker gang. Well we are different, so we spell it Fugowee. Some of us say Fugowee Club, Fugowee Clan, I just say Fugowee Tribe.
And this is why I love the Fugowee Tribe…
Reason #1: We look awesome & get to park with truckers. When we do our long trips, we all stay together and roll down the highways in our Chevy Silverado’s and various camper sizes.
Reason #2: Campground security love when we come to town. This is actually completely inaccurate. We’ve already been asked not to come back to a campground once, and another campground decided to get rid of our reservations that we make every year. My song choice of “Get Low” at a Christian campground during Karaoke night probably helped the campground owners with that decision. We have also had our golf kart taken during a Myrtle Beach camping trip. We still look for that pony-tailed security guard at Myrtle Beach, but he might have quit after his experience with us. Fun-sucker.
Reason #3: We are family. We are there for each other whenever it’s needed. We are always there for someone to lean on… literally.
Reason #4: We stay well hydrated. Self-explanatory.
Reason #5: We stay active & fit. We might be guzzling down calories from all of the beer, bacon and mountain pies, but we still stay active. Cornhole, washer boards, boche ball, kickball… etc. We do it all.
Reason #6: We bond with nature. Yes, food falls on the ground. 5-second rule right? The picture below shows of nature bonding, with fallen chicken. Did we eat it? Heck yes. Did I tell my Dad a minute before this picture that the chicken was going to fall? Yes. Did he listen? No.
Reason #7: We get out there in nature. We might have gotten lost in the woods on this day, but we had fun. We think nature did too.
Reason #8: We get into the spirit of things. Even if it frightens little children, but makes us laugh.
Reason #9: We use our minds & invent. If you have a large wine bottle that you are passing it around, and you don’t want to just lift that sucker up, you have your grandpa put together a huge straw to put in that large wine bottle.
Reason #10: We stick together. And I mean literally. Especially in the river.
Reason #11: We challenge each other. To things like push-up contests. Which by the way, I beat my brother in this picture.
Reason #12: We put the word “team” in teamwork.
Reason #13: There is so much love. Maybe too much love. Example: Travis and my Uncle reenacting a scene from the Titanic.
I could probably go on, and on, but I will stop there. :)
Do you go camping? Does this make you want to go camping? Especially with us? I hope so.
