The Tale About The Dress

I wanted to write this story before the details escape me.
I was camping over the weekend on the river, which has a ferry that runs from the campground, across the river, to the town that Travis’ mom lives in. You might remember that Travis’ Mom’s cousin owns the little bridal boutique in her town and she ordered me in a dress that I fell in love with online.
Friday night, watching the fireworks with my cousins
On Saturday morning a bunch of us girls (My mom, my future cousin-in-law Katie, my cousins Courtney & Autumn and my cousin’s best friend Kate) all waited around at 9AM for the ferry to come pick us up and take us over to the town across the river. On the other side of the river, Travis’ mom was waiting for us, and my maid of honor, Samantha, was on her way.

When we landed on the other side of the river, we went straight to the bridal boutique. My maid of honor was not there yet, and the other girls wanted me to try on some dresses so they had something to compare to the dress that I had ordered in. Travis’ Mom’s cousin pulled about 5 dresses that she thought would look best on me. The first dress was an immediate no, I didn’t even show the girls it. After a few more dresses, I put on a dress where I absolutely loved the top half of the dress, and loved the back, but there was something about the bottom that I didn’t like. I couldn’t put my finger on it either. Everyone loved the dress though, but I decided to keep trying on other dresses, but as I was being laced up into another dress I kept starring at the previous dress and trying to figure out what I didn’t like about the bottom.
Eventually I ran out of dresses to try on, so it was time for me to put on the dress that I fell in love with online. It didn’t wow me when I saw it in the bag, but my legs were shaking as I was putting it on and I had a knot in my stomach. It was on and…. I hated it. It looked wrinkly, and like the beads were just thrown on it. It was horrible. After this happened, I sat down with Travis’ Mom and her cousin and looked thru the Mori Lee book. We found a dress in the book that was similar to the dress I tried on earlier (the one where I loved the top half, but not the bottom). We decided to order that dress in on Monday so I could try it on. I then put on my street clothes and we were all getting ready to leave.
Then Travis’ Mom turned to me and said, why don’t you put that dress back on that you like, and I’ll pull some of the tulle away from you, so the bottom lays different. I put the dress back on, and my cousin Autumn laced it up for me and we went into the 360 mirror room, with all of the girls. Travis’ mom pulled some of the tulle away, and I loved the dress, but I just didn’t get that feeling. My maid of honor said, are you planning on wearing your hair up or down for the wedding, and I replied, “Down and curled“. So she said put your hair down, which was already pretty curly from river swimming the night before. I put my hair down, and as soon as it hit my shoulders, that was it. I kind of gasped, and put my hands over my mouth while holding back tears. I looked in the mirror at all of the girls behind me and all I saw was all of my girls with red eyes, chocking back tears.
It was the dress. I found my dress.
