Weekend Wrap-Up #38

I am CRAZY busy this week at work, but I’m dropping in today to do a weekend wrap-up & a little hint to an announcement coming up (at the bottom).

We had an awesome weekend. The weather was finally spring-like, so we took full advantage. Friday night was race night (we’ve been going to Williams Grove Speedway lately) so we did the ritual of grabbing Sheetz food on the way to the track. We also showed our support to reform the Pennsylvania Beer Law by mailing in our signatures. (So they can sell beer in grocery stores & gas stations. If you live in Pennsylvania and you want to support this, stop by your local Sheetz and pick up the postcards to mail in. They already have postage on them!)

Saturday was spent at my parents house. My car received a ton of love that day! It received new brakes, the seat belt and hatch wall was put back together (they were ripped off for a roof leak), it got some oil, and some coolant, a new coolant tank, the hood latch was finally fixed (yay!) and even my turn signal bulbs. She finally feels like she’s going to last me as long as we were hoping. (The longer she lasts with minimal repairs, the more we can save for a house!) While we were at my parent’s, we also went over wedding stuff (hit a little snag, but we’re working on it), went to visit my grandma and scouted out another ceremony spot option (bust).

On Sunday, it was the trucks turn to get some love. We replaced the tailgates gold Chevrolet emblem (it had water damage) with a chrome one, and also added a light bar under the tailgate. I spent my time going back and forth between helping Travis, to sitting in my car, with the country blarring, sippin’ on Soco & coke, and working on wedding stuff.

And now for a little teaser!

Weekend Wrap-Up #37 + President’s Day

Our weekend started out like most of our weekends. By just sitting at home friday night and relaxing, but I did manage to cut and glue a lot of felt. My mission was to clear off the coffee table since my wreath projects had completely taken over. (I did accomplish that goal!) On Saturday, Travis took me out to El Rodeo (Mexican restaurant) as a late Valentine’s day lunch. It was delicious and we left the restaurant so full. We did go to the local mall afterwards though, to catch a movie, but the showtimes were horrible. So that was a bust. We are going tonight though with Travis’ Mom & Stepdad to see Hansel and Gretel!

On Sunday, we just lounged around. I worked on wreaths, while Travis watched Breaking Bad. Towards the end of the night, we got a little restless, so Travis put a new intake onto the truck, and we took it for a spin. While we were out we stopped at Michael’s to pick up a few more pieces of felt so I could finish my wreaths, and Travis found an entire shelf full of $1 foam beer coozies, so of course, he grabbed a couple. Once Monday rolled around, Travis had to work, so I decided to clean all day. Which resulted in tackling the storage unit (Which is about 75% done). I laid out all of Travis’ Volkswagen parts in there, so he could easily see what he still had to sell. (he has way more parts leftover, than I thought he did.)

We also added more bottles to Travis’ beer bottle collection over the weekend. We are now up to 10. With his new favorite being Hop Hog from Lancaster Brewing Company.

I also put the Valentine’s Day decorations away, and broke out the St. Patrick’s Day ones. Including my favorite wreath ever (not pictured).

Speaking of wreaths, these babies are just about finished. The white one needs a sparkly letter, the St. Patrick’s day one needs some clovers and the 4th of July one needs some white stars.

I kind of love them hanging along the wall like that. I even said to Travis’ yesterday that I kind of hope the Home Sweet Home one does not sell, so I can justify keeping it.

I still have to finish the blue one. I’m thinking about adding a bunch of colorful felt flowers onto it, but I’m not sure yet. (of course Coco is creeping)

While cleaning yesterday, I also hung Travis’ periodic table that he recevied from my brother for Christmas. It still needs an awesome wood frame, but that will have to wait until we actually have a mancave.

How was your weekend? If you had off work yesterday, what did you do with your extra day?

Weekend Wrap-Up #36

Darn weekends and their flying by. I’m so ready for my three-day weekend that’s coming up (President’s Day), but in the meantime, it’s time to get back to blogging. I should actually have three posts this week (what!?). I’m slowing getting back into the swing of things, but let’s start out easy with my weekend wrap-up…

On Friday night Travis had to work late, so I spent my time after work doing a bunch of things. I went to Michael’s as the snow began, followed by Petco and then to pick up Travis’ Valentine’s Day gift. Which I wrapped in a cardboard box; Classy, I know. I also updated my instagram picture of the #LenkerBeerBottleCollection. We’ve been saving different types of beer bottles for Travis’ man-cave because of a dream I had. Which involves Retro Ranch Reno’s wood shelves, before they even existed (psychic?)

I continued on with the night by drinking some wine, hanging out with Coco (who was mid-yawn in the picture below) and watching the snow fall.

I even got my new clutch from The Humble Penguin Shop (AKA: My Blogging BFF) It’s adorable, and I’ve been using it ever since. I’ll have to post some pictures of it soon. I also counted out my collection of corks. I was going to make a wreath out of them, but that makes me nervous after reading about others having serious problems making them. I received a lot of suggestions on what to do with them instead, but I have yet to make a decision. Saturday was spent watching more lost (we finally made it to Season 3!), going to Lowe’s for things to fix the toilet with (it’s fixed, properly), and just kind of lounging around.

On Sunday, Travis took me out clothes shopping as my Valentine’s day gift, but it was a bust. The stores were crowded and it made us hate our city even more because of the way people were acting. I did buy a frame from Marshall’s though, with a gift card I had. I’ll have a post on that later this week. (Hint: It’s going to frame this.)

Who all has a three-day weekend this coming up weekend? Any plans for it? I’m thinking about cleaning out our storage room… again.
