A Day In the Life {Twenty Twelve Edition}

I love looking at people’s A Day In the Life posts so I thought it would be neat to do one every year and see how things change. Here is my current daily routine on a typical Thursday:

6:50AM – 6:54AM; Time to get up. Head to the bathroom, Coco wants in the window… I do as she commands.

6:55AM – 7:14AM; Shower & get ready. I lay Travis’ clothes out for him before I even get dressed. #BestGirlfriendEver

7:15AM – 7:24AM; I finally get dressed & then I feed the gerbils & the coco. This usually results in Coco getting hyper.

7:25AM – 7:30AM; Yup, she’s hyper. Running all around like a crazy person. Travis is finally awake now too. I grab my breakfast. Blueberry muffin, banana and a drink to get me thru the day. I also go around the apartment and grab Travis’ things for him: cellphone, belt, shoes, keys, usb… etc. #StillBestGirlfriendEver

7:31AM – 7:36AM; Say goodbye to Travis & Coco and head out the door. Say goodbye to the GLI for the last time. :(

7:37AM – 7:52AM; Start the car up, start backing out of driveway. But wait! Travis wants fuse tool from his GLI before the insurance company takes it away. Grab it, throw it in the apartment and then head to work. Get to work and text Travis about a possible doppelganger sighting.

7:53AM – 7:55AM; I’m at work, ugh. Head into the office building and into my office. #LifeOfAnAdministrativeAssistant

7:56AM – 8:30AM; Meeting in the office today. Got to get the conference room ready and brew the coffee. Once the room is ready, I check blog comments.

8:31AM – 12:00PM; Work, work, work & blog reading.

12:01PM – 1:30PM; More work, checking out my personal calendar – September looks empty, yay! Free pizza & salad for lunch leftover from the meeting.

1:31PM – 1:45PM; Washing the dishes from the meeting, ugh. This was not in my job description. Decide to put my hair up since it’s turning into a curly mess. Time to go get the mail, favorite part of my work day.

1:45PM – 3:59PM; Since the courtyard is right next to our mailboxes, I go outside for a little while to get some fresh air. It’s absolutely gorgeous out today. Eventually come back inside and get the mail. Then it’s more working, blog reading… etc.

4:00PM – 4:12PM; Goodbye work! Drive home, walk into apartment door and this is what I see right away… Coco meowing at me.

4:13PM – 4:20PM; I get changed, and gather up the dirty wash to do laundry.

4:20PM – 5:05PM; I do some more dishes, but this time at home. I write down what we need to pack for our camping trip on the chalkboard & then I catch up on my DVR’d shows and browse the web a bit.

5:06PM – End of the night; Travis texts me to tell me he’s going to be late. He finally gets home around 6:45PM and grabs a beer right away. We get ready for bed and are in bed by 8 where we just talk and watch tv until we fall asleep.

& now it’s Friday, yay!

Currently

Since I’m on a limited budget for crafts for a little while, and since I don’t want the blog to go quiet… I’m doing another Currently post! Check out the first one I did here. And don’t worry, I have a wreath and some fall decorations in the works right now that I’ll post about soon!

Disliking

For some reason I’m disliking a lot right now, which I hate. I try to always be positive, but things are getting the best of me right now. But, I’m going to take these things I’m disliking and put a much needed positive spin on them. I’m disliking that the GLI got totaled, as much as I hated how much money and time Travis put into that car, I still loved it. She was a beauty. Plus side though, is that Travis is going to get a truck, finally! He’s wanted a truck forever now, but it just was not the right time. Now it is. Also, he found a new hobby. Since his Volkswagen will no longer be his hobby, his new hobby is gun. Guns, Trucks & Country Music. #MyDreamMan Another thing I’m disliking lately is that my brand new radio in my car is not working, plus side is that I’m sort of glad it’s not because I’ve been getting really bad sinus headaches lately and the last thing I want is noise of any kind. I’m also disliking the fact that camping is pretty much over. We go this weekend yet and then we go for a quick trip over Halloween and that is all. Plus side, I’m soooo looking forward to next camping season. More mixed drinks & More fun. Plus, I’m looking forward to hanging out with my cousins fiance more. This is the first year that she’s coming camping with us, and she is fun as hell. Plus, she gets drunk and yells how much she loves Mailbox Journey. Good times.

Drinking

Travis bought me a ginormous Snapple Peach Tea last night when we stopped at Sheetz for some grub. It’s so big, that I couldn’t even finish it last night, so I brought the rest of it with me to work. I’m also going to be drinking some mixed drinks starting tomorrow night, since I’ll be out camping. I’m anxious to mix up some new drinks, and hopefully come out with something delicious to post about next week. I have to say though, that lately I’ve been drinking a ton of water. At home and at work. I still have the occasional snapple, or cup of juice, but it’s mostly been water. I use to drink a ton of water when I was a teenager. In the summer time, I’d walk around with a jug full of water, I even named him but I can’t recall what his name was… but anyways, I’m glad I’m getting back to drinking a ton of water.

Learning

I’ve been learning to control my spending. I’d usually go to the craft store and buy everything and anything that I loved, but I’ve learned from Travis to “subsidize”. Example, when we go to the discount store Ollies we fill the cart up with a bunch of stuff, and then every couple aisles, we’ll go thru the cart and be like do we really need this, or that. So by the time we get to the register, we only have a few things that we really want to buy. I’ve learned to use this method when I go to the craft store. I’ve also set a budget for my crafts. Last night I went to the craft store with a budget of $45. (Actually a budget of $40, since I spent $5 at Dollar Tree earlier in the day) I also was armed with a list, which is critical so I don’t overspend. I knew that I wanted to make a wreath and look at their clearance fall decorations. I somehow wondered into the home decor clearance aisle though, that’s when this subsidize lesson took action. They had this big, bright beautiful ceramic owl for sale. 40% off. $10. OMG I WANT! I decided to walk away for a little bit and go to the aisles that I’m suppose to be going to, still thinking about that owl, which I know would put me over my budget. I went into the Fall clearance aisles, and they had beautiful leaf garland for $7. So I made a decision. I chose the garland over that owl and I came out of the store with two dollars and some change left over. Win.

Loving

The fact that tomorrow is Friday and I only have to work 7 hours instead of 8! I’m also loving the fact that this weekend is a camping weekend. Also, that fall is coming, my moccasins are in at Payless, the new scarf I bought last month while anticipating winter (Hey, it snowed here last year in October!) and just how perfect in my eyes my little family is of Travis and Coco and those moments at home that just make me giggle at how silly we are, and all of our inside jokes involving Coco and her kitty helicopters, her hammer tail and anything else we make up about her secret kitty life. I love it all.

Managing

Trying to get my Day In the Life Post ready for tomorrow. I wanted to do this for the Blogiversary, but I didn’t get the chance. So this morning when I woke up, I thought today is the day. Document everything. I’ve been doing just that for the past four or five hours now, and I just hope that I don’t forget to document things as the rest of the day goes by. If I don’t forget, you’ll see that post tomorrow. :)

What are you currently Disliking, Drinking, Learning, Loving, Managing?

Currently

Since I’m still trying to pay down some debt and save for a house at the same time, I’ve given myself a budget for blogging “hobbies”. As in I give myself $40-$50 a month to spend at the craft store. I exceeded my August budget way back in the beginning of August, since I made my chalkboard magnets, string art and hosted a giveaway. Therefore, I don’t really have much to craft these days, but after holding the Blogiversary survey I realized that half of you came here for the projects, and the other half of you came here to learn more about me. I already do the Weekend Wrap-Up’s which gives you all a glimpse into my life, but I thought since I don’t have anything going on this week, that I would join in on the Currently link party hosted by Harvesting Kale & This Amazing Day.

Cooking

I barely ever cook, but I did just bake some blueberry muffins. They were out of a bag though, not from scratch. I desperately needed something to eat for breakfast at work, so I just grabbed the bag of mix and made them on Sunday morning. I have to say that I’m much better at mixing drinks together, than I am at cooking or baking. I might not be able to feed my husband one day, but I’ll definitely be able to get him drunk.

Reading

I haven’t had the time to read a book in awhile. The last book I read was The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks which made me cry. All of his books make me cry. The only thing I’ve been reading lately is blogs, blogs and more blogs.

Wishing

That we don’t hit any more bumps in the road money wise. Every time we get back on top of things, something happens, like I wreck my car, or break it, or Travis’ catches on fire. It’s a never ending cycle of dumping money into our cars. I just want to save money, apply for a mortgage and get the process rolling. We both want out of our apartment badly. I can’t stand the spiders anymore, or the feeling of living in a dungeon, and our refrigerator is starting to break, again. So, I’m wishing to win the lottery or wishing that the car gods would just leave me alone for awhile.

Considering

Going to Payless when the AirWalk moccasins come back out for the fall season, and buying every single color since my tan ones are falling apart. I Love AirWalk Moccasins. Probably going to wear them on my wedding day, it’s that kind of love. As I typed this, I went to Payless’ website to see if they are in, and they are! Ahhhh!

Looking for

Inspiration. Our current apartment just makes me feel blah in the inspiration department. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to hang anything, or do anything to it, since I know that we will be moving in hopefully 7 – 12 months. All I want to do is make wreaths, since that is something I can take with me and can work anywhere. I don’t want to make 2398294 wreaths though in the next year, that would be crazy. I guess I’m just itching to paint walls, plant a garden, and having the freedom to fix something the right right, instead of having a landlord to go thru, who fixes it half-assed-ly. Without the freedom for those things, I’m just… bleh.

What are you currently cooking, reading, wishing, considering & looking for?
