First & Second Apartment Floor Plans

Hey everyone! :) I just wanted to pop in quick to let you know that I added floor plans to the apartment tours pages. I added our first apartment’s layout. (seen here) Which really brought back memories. We definitely miss this place, but we don’t miss our old landlord, or all of those damn stairs – that’s for sure.

And I finally added our second apartment’s floor plan, (seen here) which I don’t think you guys have seen yet, so it might help you get a better idea of how everything is laid out. Also, which rooms are above grade, and which are below.

These were pretty rough drafts for right now and nothing is to scale – but I’d love to sit down one day and draw them out on card stock and frame the floor plans. Maybe I’ll have to do that this weekend, or have Travis do it sometime (he’s way better at drawing than I am). Once that happens, I’ll let you guys know, and replace the computer generated ones. :)

I hope you are all having a great Friday so far – any exciting plans, projects or renovations happening this weekend? I’ll be camping in northeast Pennsylvania for the weekend. :)

The Move, Day by Day

As of an hour ago, we have internet back! Woohoo! So before I get back to unpacking some boxes, and putting things away, I thought I’d update you guys on what’s going on at our new apartment starting with moving out of the old one.

On Friday night we packed up the rest of our things in the apartment, and started to pile everything in the living room.

Travis and my brother Shawn shampooed the kitchen carpet, while I packed up boxes and brought some boxes down from the attic.

By the end of the night the apartment was pretty bare looking except for the huge pile of boxes in the living room. But our little “dining room” nook went from this…

To this…

Our bedroom turned into the holding ground for empty boxes and packing paper, so it was sort of out of the way.

But our living room pile kept growing & growing…

Saturday morning was the big moving day. My dad came over with his truck, and my brother Shawn, my sister Jessica, and her boyfriend Mike all came over to help with the move. So in total we had 4 cars to load boxes into. (My car, Travis’ car, my sisters car, and my Dad’s truck) Because of all of the help and cars, we were able to move everything in just two trips!

Here we are unloading at the new apartment. (Dad, Shawn, Jessica & Travis)

Coco came along on Saturday as well. She really had no idea what was going on, but she’s content now in the new place.

So, once we unloaded all of the cars after our second trip, our new apartment was a huge mess! Boxes and items everywhere. Here is what the storage/pantry room was looking like…

Our bedroom… (Coco managed to get herself in a bunch of pictures, she follows me around like it’s her job.)

Our kitchen – No way we were cooking that day/night.

Here is the living room as well. Everyone was taking a breathier and drinking some bruskies.

On Sunday morning Travis cooked up some breakfast (after digging for pots, pans and dishes), then around 11am he left to go meet my brother out at our older apartment so they could clean it up, and touch up the walls with some paint in hopes of getting our entire deposit back (I find out on Friday). I stayed home since DirecTV was coming out to re-install our service (My appointment with them was suppose to be between 12 – 4, even though they guy only showed up at 5pm. But that’s an entirely different story, let’s just say that I ended up getting a $50 credit from DirecTV for the horrible experience.)

By Monday afternoon I managed to get the storage room organized.

As well as the bathroom (which is so hard to take a picture of!).

Our living room is starting to take shape as well.

The kitchen on the other hand, is in need of some help. Travis is in charge of putting the kitchen stuff away, since he is the one that cooks and knows where he needs his things to be, but he couldn’t take off of work this week, like I did. Therefore, the kitchen is moving very slowly along.

Today, I couldn’t really do too much since Verizon was here (much better experience then DirecTV, by far!) but mostly everything left to unpack is things for Travis to do, like the kitchen and his office corner.

Oh, but we did manage to buy a Christmas tree during all this chaos!

Did you miss Mailbox Journey during our no-internet-access break?
I definitely missed you guys! I couldn’t wait to write a post, or catch up on the blogs I read everyday.

Inspiration Stamps & Moving Update

I would say TGIF, but today I’m more ICWUMBIHM (I can’t wait until Monday, because I hate moving). Tomorrow is the official moving day, so will I be sleeping in this weekend? Nope. Could I really use it? Oh, hell yes. I am exhausted and my body aches, especially my shoulder (car accident injury from two years ago). Our entire current apartment is in mountains of boxes, except for big stuff, shower stuff, and kitty/gerbil food & toys.

The newer apartment is all clean, and ready to be moved into. We even shampooed the carpets last night (thank god, because they were gross!). Tonight we will be loading up our cars with as much as we can possibly shove into a Volkswagen, so we are all ready to go in the AM with our first load. We will also be shampooing the floors in the current apartment, along with repainting a few areas, and replacing all of the original light bulbs and fixtures. So, I have a very busy night, and weekend ahead of me.

I will probably have another update for you guys tonight, or tomorrow morning with some pictures. After that, I won’t have internet on my laptop until Tuesday afternoon (Ahhhh! Thank god for smartphones.)

Now, it’s time for me to go make some lists of things that still need done. But for you guys, here are your weekly inspiration stamps.

What are your weekend plans?
