10 Bags in 10 Days

I have been avoiding to think about the amount of junk we have in our apartment lately. I know that I need to do something about it though, since we are planning on moving this year and the less boxes you have to move, the better, but I just didn’t want to think about “spring cleaning”. That is until I came across Country Mouse Tales post today. She’s doing a whole 30 bags in 30 days thing, and I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and actual get this stuff done! Instead of doing 30 days though, I’m going to do 10: 10 bags in 10 days. I’ve divided our apartment into 10 small chucks that really need attention.

10Bags10Days

It’s time to get rid of some junk, like Travis’ leftover car parts, craft stuff that I always say “I’ll do something with” and never do, and all of those yard sale boxes filled with stuff that we have leftover from our 2011 yardsale! So, until January 13th I’ll be knee deep in cleaning and hauling things to goodwill. Feel free to join us and do some 30 bags in 30 days, 20 bags in 20 days or some 10 bags in 10 days!

    Sounds like a plan!

We pretend like we’re moving once a year. It’s good motivation to get rid of the junk!

I really need to do something like this. We’ll be moving in a month once the final sale of our house goes through. The apartment we’ll move to for now will be a similar square footage but without a basement. I can’t BELIEVE how much we store down there. So at the beginning of February I might do something like this.

Such a great idea! I’m in the middle of a major purge of everything in our house. I’m so random, but I keep making piles to toss, sell or donate all over the place. I. WANT. THE. JUNK. GONE. ;)

We’re junking out too! I’m not going to hold myself to a certain number of bags over a certain number of days, but as we’re packing up we’re sorting and purging, too.

Loving this idea! It makes purging seem so much less intimidating :)

This is a great idea! We have boxes on boxes that we haven’t unpacked from our move over a year ago. We clearly have a bunch of crap we don’t need or use! I should be jumping all over this bandwagon!

Nice! We have so much crap all over the place that this seems like a brilliant idea.

I think I might jump aboard and do something similar, we are playing on a garage sale for this spring. We moved over a year ago and I would say half of the stuff is still in boxes, I cleaned out a couple of boxes last weekend and got rid of almost everything in it. Haven’t used it in a year, haven’t even gone looking for it, probably don’t need it.
