Falling Into Autumn with a To-Do List
08/29/2012
My favorite season begins soon: Fall/Autumn. I can’t believe it will be here already though, because it seems like a little bit ago we moved into our apartment, even though it was last November. The years really do fly by faster as you get older. But even though the weeks are flying by and I’m not getting any younger, I’m still looking forward to Fall.

You all know that I love a good To-Do list (like this one, and that one), so I’ve made a little list of things I’d love to do this fall. There is only one Fall craft thrown in there because I didn’t want to overwhelm myself, but there will probably be a few fall inspired crafts throughout the next couple months that will make their way onto the blog. No promises, but I’m hoping to make something with acorns. That is, if I can find any.

Just 7 simple things. Okay, well the photoshoot with Travis will not be simple, I’ll have to drag him to the lake, and deal with his “sighs” and the “are we done yet” every five minutes, but I’m hoping to get it done since our 5th Anniversary is in October! For the other 6 they are all pretty simple – I’d like to make some more Apple Pie drinks, which means that Travis & I have to travel to Maryland for some Everclear which hopefully means a trip to Ikea since the Baltimore IKEA is the closest one to us. I’d like to buy some new boots, which I talked about in the August Edition of Currently Lovin’. I’d love to make a Pumpkin Roll, but I’ve never made one before so that should be interesting, and I should probably make it while drinking some hot chocolate. Kill two birds with one stone, right? That’s such a horrible saying… I’m not sure what kind of wreath I’ll make, but I’ll figure it out. Maybe felt or Maybe Not. Then there is that difficult photoshoot… we’ll see how that goes & last on the list is to make a slow cooker meal. We received a slow cooker pot from my Grandma last Christmas, and we’ve only used once. So I’d like to use it a lot more this fall. I’m thinking that I’ll probably make some green beans, ham & potato soup in the pot. That’s always a great go to fall meal. :)
Do you love Fall as much as me or do you want the summertime back? Or maybe you want to skip fall and go straight to Winter?

I am not embarrassed to say that I have already completed 2.5 things from this list (I’m currently working on my Fall wreath). Knowing that September is right around the corner makes me so happy!

That would be one weird package, haha. A box full of acorns.

Fall makes me so happy! We have gigantic maple trees in our yard which makes for a perfect photo shoot location, but Mike isn’t interested. I’m trying to convince him that we should take engagement pictures after all, but he hasn’t come around yet…
My slow cooker is my favourite kitchen appliance. Stew, chili, lasagna, spaghetti, shredded taco chicken…so many possibilities!

Travis is never interested either. Every time I want to get a picture with him, he moans and groans until I say, forget it. ha.

We don’t get much of a fall season here in Sout Texas…nothing but palm trees, and 70 degree weather…you are so lucky to life in PA. However, it is still my favorite time of year aswell! I dream of one day seeing the leaves changing and jumping in huge piles of them. once day! lol :)

You MUST move somewhere where the leaves change colors, it’s breath-taking. Especially in Vermont. I’d so move there if I got the chance.

This post is making me so excited for the best season of all! The picture at the top sums it up so well, crisp air and cuddling in a hoodie, i can’t wait! You need to start cooking with the slow cooker more, it is soo easy and delicious. There are a bunch of recipes where you put in meat and some sauce/spices and just let it cook all day and it comes out all moist and tasty. I usually go to allrecipes.com and browse for slow cooker recipes, its great because people have already tried them and rated them so you can learn extra tips from their comments too.

We use allreciepes.com a lot! Crockpot meals are the best – my mom makes them all the time. I’m not sure why we don’t use ours more.

IT IS MY FAVORITE TOOOOOO!!! I can’t wait. I’ve blogged that first picture before too – it’s perfect. :)

haha, yeah. The same day I scheduled this post, you blogged that picture. I was like… crap. But I had to use it because it describes it so perfectly.

I love fall too! Its a long weekend here this weekend so I’m looking forward to cramming in a few last summer activities and then fall can begin for me!
That’s a great list you have! Shayne hates photos too so I hear ya on that one! Good luck convincing Travis. And definitely start using your slow cooker- its so great coming home and dinner is already made. The house always smells amazing too! We just had slow cooker beef dip sandwiches last night in fact (I have that recipe on my blog).

We have a long weekend too (thinking back, I don’t think I answered that question in our last email convo.) so it’s our second to last camping trip. :(
& that sounds delicious. I’ll have to go check that recipe out.

Yay for baking and using the slow cooker! I love using mine for soups and stews! And I can’t wait to whip up some pumpkin cupcakes!
I’m also hoping Jesse gets a deer this hunting season so I can make some venison stew, chili and a few roasts!

I love deer jerky, but the rest of deer meat makes me sick, literally. Hopefully both of our men get a deer this season though!

I love fall too! But summer just won’t let go this year. I have a feeling it’s going to be short weather in to the end of October. And that will make me very angry!

I have some really great crock-pot meals… being a single girl who lives alone its pretty much my best friend.
I cannot wait to see the wreath! I still haven’t attempted one yet but its on my list of things to do! :)

We have a lot of acorns in California because there are lots of oak trees in the country parts. I could take a trip to my parents’ house and collect some acorns for you and mail them to you if you don’t find any yourself :)
I like your list. It is very varied with some easy to-do’s and some that might take a bit more effort or time. I know for me, I’m definitely doing one on your list: Drink Hot Cocoa! ;)

I can usually find acorns at a park, I’ll just have to make a special trip, since I live in the city, and I won’t be able to find many around there. Thanks for the offer though!

Awesome list! I see those pumpkin rolls on Pinterest constantly and they always look so delicious! Definitely let me know how it turns out.
As much as I enjoy fall, I have a special love for summer (heat and all).

I love the idea of a photo shoot in the leaves; Kevin would never go for that, lol! I think I am going to make a “fall to do list!” Thanks for the inspiration =)
