Since I’m still trying to pay down some debt and save for a house at the same time, I’ve given myself a budget for blogging “hobbies”. As in I give myself $40-$50 a month to spend at the craft store. I exceeded my August budget way back in the beginning of August, since I made my chalkboard magnets, string art and hosted a giveaway. Therefore, I don’t really have much to craft these days, but after holding the Blogiversary survey I realized that half of you came here for the projects, and the other half of you came here to learn more about me. I already do the Weekend Wrap-Up’s which gives you all a glimpse into my life, but I thought since I don’t have anything going on this week, that I would join in on the Currently link party hosted by Harvesting Kale & This Amazing Day.

Cooking

I barely ever cook, but I did just bake some blueberry muffins. They were out of a bag though, not from scratch. I desperately needed something to eat for breakfast at work, so I just grabbed the bag of mix and made them on Sunday morning. I have to say that I’m much better at mixing drinks together, than I am at cooking or baking. I might not be able to feed my husband one day, but I’ll definitely be able to get him drunk.

Reading

I haven’t had the time to read a book in awhile. The last book I read was The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks which made me cry. All of his books make me cry. The only thing I’ve been reading lately is blogs, blogs and more blogs.

Wishing

That we don’t hit any more bumps in the road money wise. Every time we get back on top of things, something happens, like I wreck my car, or break it, or Travis’ catches on fire. It’s a never ending cycle of dumping money into our cars. I just want to save money, apply for a mortgage and get the process rolling. We both want out of our apartment badly. I can’t stand the spiders anymore, or the feeling of living in a dungeon, and our refrigerator is starting to break, again. So, I’m wishing to win the lottery or wishing that the car gods would just leave me alone for awhile.

Considering

Going to Payless when the AirWalk moccasins come back out for the fall season, and buying every single color since my tan ones are falling apart. I Love AirWalk Moccasins. Probably going to wear them on my wedding day, it’s that kind of love. As I typed this, I went to Payless’ website to see if they are in, and they are! Ahhhh!

Looking for

Inspiration. Our current apartment just makes me feel blah in the inspiration department. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to hang anything, or do anything to it, since I know that we will be moving in hopefully 7 – 12 months. All I want to do is make wreaths, since that is something I can take with me and can work anywhere. I don’t want to make 2398294 wreaths though in the next year, that would be crazy. I guess I’m just itching to paint walls, plant a garden, and having the freedom to fix something the right right, instead of having a landlord to go thru, who fixes it half-assed-ly. Without the freedom for those things, I’m just… bleh.

What are you currently cooking, reading, wishing, considering & looking for?

I am picturing your apartment flooded with wreaths! Hoarders would definitely be after you. I hope you are able to keep making progress at saving and are able to get a house soon. Sometimes it is hard being patient.

haha – I think I’m too OCD to be a Hoarder. It definitely is hard to be so patient.

Hang in there! Just keep working hard and you’ll eventually be where you want to be! And try to enjoy the present as much as you can! :)

I know EXACTLY how you feel about feeling uninspired in your current place. Once the holidays hit I’m sure you’ll be rejuvenated though.

I might have to do this little link up myself. I’ve been looking for a reason to post lately and this just might be it!

“I might not be able to feed my husband one day, but I’ll definitely be able to get him drunk.” Priceless. I laughed :)

And I totally understand the feeling of not being able to spend the extra money on crafts, it sucks!

It does suck. I’m so anxious for my September payday to get here. Hopefully I don’t spend it so fast this time.

    I love blueberry muffins.

I get what you mean about feeling bleh in your apartment. Sometimes I feel that way too since we’re currently renting also. But I do feel lucky that our landlord gives us some freedom, and that we also have an agreement that we will fix any problems that go wrong (the right way) the landlord just has to pay for the parts to replace anything. Like our washer lately. Today is the first day that I didn’t have to wring out my clothes before putting them in the dryer. After a ton of trial and error, we finally fixed the right problem and got the washer to spin at full speed, yay!

Good luck in getting your own place soon :)

We are pretty young, 23 & 21, but we know what we want. Heck, most kids in my graduating high school class already have homes, are married, and popping out kids – crazy!

I laughed out loud (for real) when I read the part about getting your husband drunk. Who needs food, when you’ve got a strong cocktail in your hand? Right?

Yay! I can’t wait until the weather gets cool enough so I can wear them again. I’d probably get made fun of if I wore them in 90 degree heat.

& Thank you so much! I’ve spent tons of hours working on my layout/look. :)

Hi! I just found your Blog via Harvesting Kale and the “Currently” linky! I thought it was an ironic find since I, too, am itching to craft, but feel zero inspiration in our cave-like, cramped, disgusting apartment. We’re looking for a new place, too, and will hopefully be out in a few months. ALSO I am currently reading something but find that the only thing I want to read really are Blogs, Blogs, and more Blogs ;) Cheers!

So glad you found me, Crista! :)
I wish people that rent out apartments, would at least make them feel homey. It should be a requirement. :P But I guess you get what you pay for. If I wanted that, I’d have to shell out over a grand per month on rent. No way that’s happening. Good luck with your search for a new place!
