Weekend Wrap-Up #21

How was everyone’s weekend?
Only about three more weeks until summertime is basically over.

Our only fun-filled day over the weekend was on Saturday.
In the late afternoon was Travis’ niece’s 1st birthday party.
& afterwards we drove an hour in a half to meet up with my family
at a campground in Gettysburg, since they were going on a ghost tour that night.

I love downtown Gettysburg, but I don’t think I could ever live there.
Too many people and too much traffic in such a little space.

We picked up our tickets for a Haunted Orphanage tour & waited around for our tour guide.

Our tour guide told us a bunch of stories about the orphanage. Apparently, the woman that ran the orphanage was Rosa Carmichael, and she use to abuse the kids and shackle them in the basement. So, our tour guide took us into the basement to look around, and then had us sit in the dark down there for five minutes.

That’s when Travis snapped this picture. It looks like my brother has a little friend.

You can watch some videos about the Orphanage from professional investigators here.

I always think it’s interesting to learn about History, especially things like this. That’s awful she abused the orphans and left them in the basement. :(

Ghosts creep me out! That’s crazy!

Kevin and I have been talking about going to Gettysburg for like well over a year now and we never seem to make it happen. Looks like you had a good time!

You guys should definitely go! We go every summer and we still haven’t experienced everything there is to experience. Oh, and they just added free bus tours for the battlegrounds. :)

I was in Gettysburg as a kid and couldn’t wait to leave, but then Rick and I went there 2 summers ago and LOVED it. Must be something you appreciate more as an adult, at least for me.

We also went on a ghost tour. Fun stuff. :)

Nope, I don’t think so. I’ve heard of the place, but I don’t think I’ve ever been.

    Sounds like a creepy tour!
Our weekend was pretty good, nothing too exciting happened, but that’s just fine with me!
PS- you and your sister look a lot alike! I love the pics you took.

I would totally be that annoying person trying to scare whoever I was with if I were left in the dark on a haunted tour. lol.

that picture of your brother creeps me out, I love it!

How’s this for a geography fail, I didn’t even know Gettysburg was in PA. ha.

haha. yes, the famous Gettysburg is in Pa. My grandpa kept grabbing my leg in the dark. Sneaky old man trying to scare me.

I find it interesting to try to get a voice, or something in a picture, but the moment something appears, or touches me, or starts messing with things in the room, I’m outta there!

I’ve never been to Gettysburg, although Lisa has a couple times I think. And while I personally don’t believe in ghosts, that picture is pretty wierd!!

Creepy!!! Very cool though! We went on a haunted jail tour in Charleston a while back and some of the stories the tour guide told scared the pants off of me!! Sadly we didn’t get any cool pictures like that!
