SoCo Sweet Tea {My New Fav!}
07/26/2012

I have a new favorite drink, and it is absolutely delicious. I made this drink on Saturday afternoon and it was a hit with everyone. For example, I made 1 drink of this, for myself, because usually everyone else already has a beer or something (I tend to stay away from beer, it gives me hiccups). I made it, and then I passed it around to Travis, my brother and my cousins for them to taste it, and they all loved it. So, then I took it to my favorite Uncle and told him to try it. He did, loved it and took off with my glass, ha! & Then he came back to me and said I need another! I was thinking did he chug it or what? Here, he let his Aunt taste it and she stole the drink from him, haha! So, I started making him another drink, and then everyone else chimed in saying they wanted one too. By the time it was all said and done, I used up the entire bottle of Sweet & Sour mix, so I couldn’t make any more. This is now the new favorite for this camping season, so it looks like I need to stock up on the ingredients, so I don’t run out of drinks next time!

So, here she is in all of her delicious-ness:

Buy these ingredients & make it, you won’t regret it…

Ingredients for Southern Comfort Sweet Tea (Makes 1 drink)

  • 3 tablespoons Southern Comfort
  • 1 cup Sweet & Sour Mix
  • 1 cup Sweetened Tea
  • Splash of Cola

You all need to pin this, or bookmark this page or something and make it sometime this summer. It is amazing.

You love SoCo! I’m not a fan of it, but for me, I bet this would taste really good with armaretto instead of soco! 2.5 more months and I can try it lol!

haha, I do love SoCo. I have an entire bottle of it yet, that I need to get rid of before camping season ends in October! I bet it would taste really good that way! 2.5 months is not long at all! :)

I can honestly say that I’ve never tried SoCo, but all these recipes are making me want to grab a bottle!

Do you know if “sweet tea” is what we call “iced tea” in Canada? I know “iced tea” in the states isn’t the same as ours…

Iced Tea in my area (it varies by region) is Tea mixed with Lemonade. Sweet Tea, is like a southern brew. I’m not a big fan of Sweet Tea (McDonald’s sells Sweet Tea here and I don’t like it.) But I love Swiss Sweet Tea which is a PA thing.

I think it would be the same as our Iced Tea here in Canada (like Nestea or Brisk or something)

Iced Tea in Pennsylvania is more like Nestea & Brisk. Sweet Tea is more like those Popular Arizona Teas. I’m an Iced Tea fan, but the Sweet Tea goes really well with this mixed drink.

Mmmm love me some spiked sweet tea! I have to chime in on Ashley’s question above – Virginia’s far enough south to be an authority on sweet tea right? haha In our area iced tea is just tea bags, water and ice. Sweet tea has sugar syrup (or just sugar) added and is delish!! Melanie I agree with you, McDonald’s should be ashamed of themselves for calling that stuff sweet tea. It’s gross.

So weird how Iced Tea differs from region to region. Iced Tea in my area is regular cold tea mixed with lemonade & it’s really good. Tea with a tea bag is just called Tea. Sweet tea is the same here though as your area. :)

Oh and iced tea with lemonade is called an Arnold Palmer after the golfer. Random!
