Red Wine Sangria
Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Over the weekend, I finally made some Sangria. I always thought that Sangria was difficult to make and very time consuming, but it’s not. It’s actually fairly easy and it tastes delicious. My mom even drank it, which is so rare! She said it tasted just like grape juice. I used one of my wines from my favorite winery for this, West Hanover Winery, and I used their Snow Bear Sweet wine, which is three of their red wines blended together, if I remember correctly, but who knows because by the time I get to that winery on the wine tour I’m feeling pretty wine-tastic. As in, so drunk off wine that I pee in the woods, in plain sight, while cars whiz by and my sister laughs her ass off in the car.
This recipe makes close to a gallon of sangria
All you do is mixed all of those ingredients together in a pitcher and then stick it in the fridge. The camper fridge was broken this weekend, so I just stuck the pitcher in the cooler and surrounded it with ice. I let it sit in there for a few hours until it was chilled and then started downing it. ;)
I think I might try a white wine sangria next, even though I’m not a huge fan of white wine.
What is your favorite wine? White or Red? Dry or Sweet? I’m a Semi-Sweet Red Girl. :)
