It feels like a Monday.

Having a day off of work in the middle of the week really throws you off. I kept thinking yesterday that it was Saturday, and I needed to take more pictures for the Weekend Wrap-Up, and then I’d have to tell myself that it was only Wednesday.

Anyway, for my USA readers, how was your 4th of July? Travis & I spent half of the day over at my parent’s house, just drinking, swimming and relaxing. Afterwards we headed to some fireworks. It took awhile for us to find a place to park, but we decided on paying $5 to park in the parking garage right on the island where they set them off. We grabbed our chairs and headed out to find a place to sit, we ended up settling on the soccer field, which ended up being the perfect seat for the fireworks, but as you can see by Travis’ expression, he was not thrilled with sitting in the heat.

The fireworks were decent this year, I took a couple of pictures of them. I was going to use Decor & The Dog‘s tutorial on perfect firework pictures, but my phone died before we got to the location. Maybe next year.

Overall, it was a fun day, besides being stuck in the parking garage for over an hour since the police decided not to direct traffic. I’m so ready for the real weekend to get here now. :)

What is with the police not directing traffic when there’s eleventy billion cars in one place? That happened to us on Sunday when we were leaving The Hip concert. Brutal.

No idea – it was a mess. Usually when we leave there, we inch forward a bit, then stop, then inch forward a little more. This time we were completely stopped until the two parking lots were empty, and then the parking garage could clear out.

It DOES feel like Monday! I hate it. I came into work this morning thinking of all of the things I have to do this week, and then remembered that’s not until next week. Phooey!

Looks like you guys had a pretty good day! And I completely understand Travis’ face in that picture. Yesterday was H-O-T.

I spent the day poolside with some friends and then attended a BBQ. Kevin is sick, so I was all by myself yesterday. Also, I managed to get wicked sunburn on just the front of my legs. It was still a good day though!

Sounds like you had an awesome day, but I hope Kevin feels better soon! Did you get that cheeseburger you were rooting for? ;)

I got a little sunburn on my face. I wish my legs would get a sunburn so they can tan – my legs are so white that you can probably see right thru them!

I did get the cheeseburger and it was glorious!

My trick for sunburned legs…shave right before you go outside and don’t put sunscreen on them. I should have known better. Also, I touched my legs with sunscreen on my hands so I have a line and a couple finger marks. Good thing I’m not in a wedding this summer…oh wait, I am. Hopefully it goes away!

haha! One year Travis asked me to put sunscreen on his back, and I wasn’t really paying attention to what I was doing. (No surprise there!) He ended up getting burned and had a bunch of weird hand marks on his back, oops. hahha

    Great pictures! :)

We went to the 4th of july festival in our new town. It was pretty good – definitely not as insane as in our last city, which was good :)
Unfortunately, I picked a spot where a big tree was in our way… oops ;)

Love that you got some decent pics of fireworks. They are my nemesis. For some reason I can not photograph them to save my life!

Looks like a fun day!! I worked yesterday so it was pretty normal for me. It was SUPER hot here though too (like 45 degress celcius with humidit- that’s like 113 farhenheit!). It was so humid it was disgusting.

I am looking forward to the weekend too- after tomorrow I am off for 2 whole weeks!!! Can’t wait (even if the first week will be crazy busy and stressful lol).

When I first read that, I had no idea how hot 45 degrees Celsius was, I almost googled it until you answered my question. :P That is super hot, yuck. I like the summertime, but not when it’s over like 92 degrees F.

    Enjoy your time off!

It should be a rule that if a holiday falls on a Wednesday, then we get the entire week off of work. ;)

I think I’m the only one liking the holiday in the middle of the week. I even worked half the day. I kind of felt like I was getting away with something by not working on a Wednesday…a nice little break. And today felt like Monday but was already Thursday. Amazing.

Yesterday felt like a Monday but it was a very lovely Monday. Almost everyone at work was on vacation and work volumes were low so it was nice reprieve from a normally hectic Monday.
