Never-Ending List Maker
06/19/2012

Travis and I are hoping that we will only be apartment renters for another year yet, so we don’t want to go too crazy in making this apartment feel more like home, but we do have a pretty lengthy list on things we’d hope to accomplish in this apartment, but if we never finish it no biggie. The list definitely keeps me busy which is great, because I become bored, very easily. I thought I’d share the list with you and I also wanted to blog list so I have it as reference because keeping all of these lists in my head makes me crazy. I’m pretty sure I keep about 5 lists rotating in my brain at all times, and it’s a lot to keep track of. Half the time, I write the list down on paper when I’m bored at work, but then it eventually gets thrown away when I clean out my purse or something. I should really invest in a notebook and jot everything down, but this blog is the next best thing.

Living Room
      • Purchase at least 5 pillows (not sure what color, Travis says blue)
      • New end tables (maybe the ones from the bedroom)
      • New coffee table (DIY?)
      • Add more art
      • Find an entertainment console
      • Simplify (AKA: Get rid of clutter)
      • Maybe an area rug?
      • New pet food dishes
      • Longer curtains (& one’s that match!)
      • Hang our giant clock
      • DIY Coffee Table Tray with 1 Drawer
      • Hang sunburst mirror above sofa

Bathroom
      • Hang some art
      • New towels (Grey!)
      • Clean out medicine cabinet
      • Roman shades for window

Bedroom
      • Stop treating it like a garage
      • Clear out the yard sale stuff (Sell/Donate)
      • Buy new nightstands with lots of storage
      • Buy a new mattress & boxspring (Queen or King?)
      • Find a new bed frame
      • DIY a wooden headboard
      • New pillows, fluffy ones!
      • New sheets, pillowcases and comforter
      • New pet food dishes (Coco needs food dishes on each floor)
      • Take current nightstands and put them in living room
      • Go thru our clothing & shoes
      • Declutter!

Kitchen
      • Purchase Orange Dishtowels
      • DIY Spice Rack
      • DIY Mug Rack
      • Finish the gallery wall
      • Purchase orange patterned curtains

Mudroom
      • Purchase a Rug 5 x 5 or smaller
      • Maybe another coat rack (for the wall)

Storage Room
      • Declutter, Again!
      • Better Craft Organization

As you can see, there is a lot on our list. But it’s more of a maybe we’ll do this, or maybe we’ll buy that kind of list. We are too anxious to purchase a house to even dedicate anything to this apartment, but the list sure does help pass the time and keep me on my toes!

What is on your to do list? Or is there anything you’d like to do to your home, but probably never will?

My would love to do this, but probably never will: open up the kitchen to the living room and redo the kitchen completely. I figure that by the time we’re able to afford that we’ll probably have outgrown this place.
I love that you have a list to keep you busy! When we finish a project, I always say “what’s next?” haha. I cannot sit still!

I’m the same way! I constantly need something to do or something to plan. Love your “would love to do” list!

Like you, we don’t want to invest too much in this flat, we try and think before we buy things whether they’d fit in a future space. If I could change the whole thing? Well, I’d put a tiny tub where the shower stall is and add lots of shelves to the kitchen.

I miss having a bathtub! Both of our apartments have had shower stalls, so I’m with you on that one!

haha, I’m the same way. I always make a bunch at work and stick them in my purse. They then sit in my purse for a few days before I clean it out and then I’m like, throw away, throw away, throw away. Oops. :P

I definitely have a list of things I would love to do but likely never will. The top item on that list? Finish our basement. It was definitely our intention but we may be moving post-wedding so we’ll see how it all turns out.

You definitely have enough on your list to keep you busy!!

A possibly move after the wedding!? That’s exciting! Can’t wait to follow along with whatever you guys decide to do.

It’s looking that way! Move to be closer to Shayne’s work- I’ll definitely keep you all posted. I’m trying not to think about it until this wedding craziness is over!!

One exciting thing after the next, does it ever stop in your world? :P Lots of things to look forward to though.

Haha I love the 1st bedroom item! I dump all our junk in the basement (and need to stop doing that!) My to-do list is so long I don’t even want to think about it :)

We tend to put all of our tools, and what not in our bedroom. Right now it’s filled with two sets of tires, a set of wheels, and a ton of tools and fishing stuff. Your bedroom is suppose to be your sanctuary, mine is so far from that, ha!

Our list just keeps growing and growing! It’s so frustrating! More than anything I would love to completely re-do our kitchen…a more realistic project is probably finishing our sunroom by finding end tables, a coffee table, and art =)

I’d love to have a sunroom! I don’t remember seeing yours before? Can’t wait to follow along with whatever you guys decide to tackle next. :)
