Woods & A Fire Pit {My Dream}

I was not planning on posting today, but I’m inspired after seeing Young House Love‘s most recent post featuring Kelly Moore‘s backyard. I’ve always dreamed about what my backyard would look like. I knew I wanted to live in a wooded area and I wanted a deck. I also always pictured a fence around the backyard so I didn’t have to worry about our cats and dogs wondering off and getting lost. Plus a fence = more privacy. My motto is, if I can’t run around my backyard naked, then it’s not private enough. Not that I’d do that or anything, ha! Another thing I always pictured having in my backyard is a fire pit for those weekends where I’m not camping, because nothing smells better than a camp fire. Plus, it brings the camping environment home. Because obviously getting drunk around a campfire every other weekend with my awesome and hilarious family is not enough for me, it needs to be every weekend. Even though I knew everything that I wanted in my backyard, I never could really imagine them all together until today when I came across YHL’s house crashing post on Kelly.

Today I found my dream backyard…

Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous and peaceful? This backyard is my goal. I need to print this picture out and hang it in my apartment to remind me what I’m striving for. I’m striving for this backyard.

    I loved that backyard, too! Too bad I’m terrible with plants, hah.

    Haha, so am I! I’ve managed to kill three house plants now, and about five at work. Hopefully I get my green thumb in order before I purchase a home!

    Loved that backyard too! So pretty, relaxing and peaceful. Kids would have a ball back there too! Looks like they have a playground.

    Yes, they would! I’m not sure if that’s sand under the swing set or beige rocks, but kids would love it! So perfect.

    Oh My and you’re from central PA? I’m from NY and a Penn State alumni…Please tell me you’re a PSU fan.

    I’m not really into college football and I didn’t attend PSU, so no, I’m not really a fan. Plus, my boyfriend is a Michigan State fan, so I don’t think he’d be too happy if I was a PSU fan! :P
