Weekend Wrap-Up #6
04/16/2012
April 13th – April 15th
I had a pretty awesome weekend. On Friday, Travis went up to fishing camp with all of the guys from my Dad’s side of the family, so I planned an awesome shopping day with my sister down in the Philadelphia area. On Saturday morning, we headed out to our favorite winery to stock up on some bottles, and then we grabbed some slushies at Hess (Mountain Dew Slushie, FTW!) We headed out onto the turnpike to make our way to Philly, when an accident about .4 miles ahead of us occured, so traffic was at a standstill for two long hours. I entertained myself with trying to open a bottle of wine with what we had in the car, like keys, a pocket knife, and even a key chain that I bent into a hook, I sadly didn’t open it. :( Once we got moving again, we headed for IKEA and my sister was blown away by the place (She’s never been there.). Once we were done there we went and got some steaks and drinks at Outback Steakhouse, before heading off to a HUGE Home Goods, where we had to basically power shop, since they closed in two hours. On Sunday, Travis came home, so we just lounged on the couch all day, took naps, watched some movies, and I finished one of the books I got from Christmas. (Don’t read “The Best Of Me” unless you want to cry!)

Hahaha! The pictures of you with the wine bottle are hilarious! Did you get anything at Ikea or Home Goods??

haha, my sister was loosing it. I was so determined to get that sucker open. I was so close.
I bought under $10 worth at IKEA, but I did pick up quite a few things at Home Goods that I’ll talk about later on this week! :)

looks like a fun weekend! Pretty sure there is nothing as funny as hanging with your sister and a bottle of wine!

Oh my gosh that steak looks so good. The hubby and me love that place.
And we go nuts at Ikea too. I’ve been there 3 times and I love it everytime. Unfortunately we’re broke too so every time we went I couldn’t really buy anything, but the last time we went ,we went to furnish our new apartment and we had a little budget and I went nuts! We wanted to take everything, we had to like put things back and pick and choose but it was so much fun!

I’ve been to the Conshy Ikea many a time. I lived right down the road from it for a long time. Since we’re in Jersey now, we’ll goto the Ikea in South Philly instead. Looks like you had a fun time despite the traffic.

I heard the South Philly IKEA charges an extra 1% tax on everything, for being in the “city” or something.

OMG that’s my ikea! I live 5 minutes from it, and it is truly awesome. I don’t know what I’ll do if we ever have to move.
Anyway, what Home Goods are you talking about — is there one near Ikea? I know there’s one in Wayne off of 476 but not sure if its still open. Wish I would find another.

I think it was in Glen Mills – Takes about 25 minutes to get there from IKEA.

Or maybe it was called Chester? It was off of 322.
