Latest Additions: In the Kitchen

On Monday, I hit up the Bed, Bed & Beyond website and bought two things we were in need of in the kitchen. A utensils crock (we were using a really skinny glass vase, which only held a few utensils at once) which is a glorious white and holds tons of utensils. It’s look pretty bare right now, which is great since we only have a few cooking utensils right now.

Did you see that big orange thing to the right of our new crock? That would be our new knife block. :) This all came about because on Sunday evening, Travis was trying to cut a cantaloupe with our really horrible and dull knives, and was swearing up a storm. Which led to him cutting his finger open. So, Monday morning I sent him a bunch of links and pictures of some knife blocks + knives combos. Travis really likes red for the kitchen for some odd reason, even though he knows that I would never have a red kitchen. Being the nice girlfriend I am, I sent three red knife blocks combo’s his way, and I threw in one orange one. I crossed my fingers and rooted for the orange one, even though I knew that he would say the red, and I would click the “checkout” button while pouting my lips from getting my hopes up. However, a few seconds after sending him the pictures, he said right away… “the orange one”. Yes! After checking some reviews on the knives, everyone seemed to love them and they have a 25 year warranty – So, I checked out. :) Today they arrived, and they are awesome.

Are those not the coolest orange knives you’ve ever seen!? We are starting to run into an issue now, like we did in our old apartment. We don’t have enough counter space! I think we’ve used up every inch available on the back of our counters. One day we will have a kitchen that is big enough for us, one day…

In other news… Coco is loving the huge box that our knives and crock came in. And yes, our living room is a mess. That is indeed a fish tank on the floor and some headlight covers.

Even though our living room is currently a mess (you should see the huge pile of Travis’ for sale stuff! Drum sticks, drum frame, drum peddles, everything drums…) I have crossed out some things on my Spring Cleaning to do list. Like the storage room which you can read about here, here and here. I also managed to get our under the sink issue under control in about five minutes, which really wasn’t blog post worthy, and Travis and I have been going on apartment cleaning sprees.

I probably won’t post again until Monday, so enjoy your weekend! Anything exciting happening? I’m pretty sure I’ll be heading to IKEA and Home Goods this weekend with my sister down near Philadelphia. Road Trip!

Love the orange knives! How fun! Jesse and I are going to Washington DC for our anniversary this weekend. And we’ll be stopping by Ikea while we’re there because that is the closest one to us (2 hrs. away)!

Woo! Have fun at Ikea. I love the utensil pot and feel your pain on the blunt knives – we’ve got to get a sharpener soon. Have an ace weekend.

The new knives are super cute!!

Make sure you hit up the Ikea in Conshohocken or fall prey to the extra 1% sales tax. Have fun, it’s wonderful there and there’s a Home Depot and Michaels in the same shopping center.

The new crock is wonderful. Love the classic white lines.

Those orange knives are amazing- orange is one of my favourite colours although I don’t tend to remember to accessorize with it- need to change that!

Sounds like a fun weekend! Hope you find some great stuff at Ikea and Home Goods!

That knife set is awesome! I keep telling Tyler we really need to get married soon, because we currently have 4 steak knives (total) from Rite Aid dollar section.. and that’s just not cutting it. Pun intended.
