Latest Additions: Three Buck Find

I always though Michael’s craft store was expensive for some reason, or maybe I just sub-consiously stayed away from the place, since I turned down a job offer from there when I was a teenager because I didn’t want to give up my weekends. Back then I spent my weekends driving the hour drive to Travis’ house to spend time with him when we were still doing the long-distance thing. A few weeks ago though, when I ended up running out of felt during my St. Patrick’s day wreath, I stopped in at Michael’s as a last resort, and they ended up having a bunch of the felt I needed and it was even four cents cheaper per felt sheet, then it was at JoAnn’s and AC Moore.

I also, didn’t even know that Michael’s had a “home decor” section and even a clearance home decor aisle, and we all know that I spend FOREVERRR looking through these aisles for some awesome finds, like my green beans and peppers kitchen signage. While digging through the deals at my local Michael’s craft store, I found something that I had to have and at only three bucks, it was a steal.

As long as it makes me smile, then it was meant to be. :)

P.S. I’m still tweaking the layout. Like adding a picture on the sidebar, making some social media buttons and possibly a “corner” background. We’ll see. I’m in no rush since I’m still slaving away at cleaning out our storage room. I’ve managed to go through all of my stuff, but I’m still waiting on Travis’ to go through his computer stuff before I can move forward. Hopefully by next Monday, it’ll be organized.

Love it! That is an awesome find.

I shop almost exclusively as Michael’s because it is by far the closest to where I live (nevermind me having to drive 1+ hours to get to the nearest Hobby Lobby).

I didn’t even know what Hobby Lobby was until a year ago, when the opened a shop up in my area. It’s about an hour away for me as well. I have a gift card from my birthday though that is starting to burn a hole in my pocket. :)

My mom collects those types of birds, so I always pick them up for her. I like the little cut-out details on this one!

I saw that bird and had it in my hand. I put it down at the last minute. Seeing it now, I wish I had brought it home with me. The site looks great by the way.

I actually had a smaller blue one in my hand that was a buck, until I saw the bigger white ones. It’s hard to talk myself out of something that is 50% off.

    Thanks Diana :)
It’s still a work in progress, but the look is about done. I just have to tweak the sidebar some more. BTW, Check out the daily reads link at the top! You’ll find something familiar. :)

Awww!!! It’s so cute! Micheal’s is the closest craft store to me, but I probably go to Joann more since Micheal’s doesn’t have fabric.

And I hate when I get all my stuff together and then I have to wait for Jesse to get to his. It really makes me angry. lol

Very sweet and perfect for spring! I always go to Michaels. We don’t have JoAnns here in Canada or Hobby Lobby so Michael’s is the big one here. They have 40% to 50% coupons for every week though so that definitely helps out with money!

I hear ya on waiting for boys to do their part. They suck at getting around to that stuff!

I’ve always had something telling me Michael’s was expensive as well, so maybe I need to get over this and go in there more often! I love your little birdie!
