Aster + Purple
Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Do you remember a few weeks ago, when I planted my first ever plant? (If not, check out this post where I planted some Four O’Clock flowers in a green pot that I scored at Ollies for $5.) Well, it’s been growing like crazy, no blooms yet though. But I did capture it in a few of it’s growing stages.
In related plant news, Travis and I went to Ollie’s again on Sunday night, for their fishing sale (as you’ve seen in the last weekend wrap-up) and he let me get another planting pot! I found one that has the same texture as my green one, but it’s purple! :)
We hit Lowes up on Monday after work to pick up my seeds. I picked some Aster flowers for $1.88. They get almost two feet tall, so they might have to be replanted into another pot somewhere down the line, but for now my little purple pot will do. I only put two seeds in it, since I didn’t want to be a dare devil like the last time.
I just set it on the same window sill as the green one, since that’s the only windowsill that gets enough light, and is wide enough to hold them. I’ve since switched the green and purple pot, since the purple pot is slightly taller. But you can see just how much my Four O’Clocks have been growing! They are getting out of control.
Coco doesn’t seem very thrilled about the new addition & of course her snaggle-tooth is sticking out in this picture, haha… can you spot it?
I need a garden…
(P.S. Travis and I are talking about starting the house hunting project in the beginning of 2013!!!! You know if the world doesn’t end in December.)
Travis wanted to get in on the action too, but he wanted to be able to see the roots (what a geek :p kidding babe (not really), love you!) so I put a seed of the Aster’s in a big mason jar and set it on the bedroom window sill, since it fits. I’m just hoping that I don’t forget about it since we always have the curtains in there closed, since the neighbors can look right down into our bedroom if they are open. Plus, I had to put it in the corner, since Coco hangs out up there and fights/meow’s with the cats outside. We’ll see what happens.
Have you planned anything lately? Do you have an actual garden?
If the answer is yes, then consider me officially jealous.
