Apple Pie Alcoholic Drink

Travis is definitely prepared for the weekend…
On Sunday night last weekend, Travis made some good ole’ Apple Pie. No, not the kind with crust that you eat with a fork. I mean the kind you drink out in the woods with your boys around a campfire. FYI, Travis is a country boy, The way I like ‘em. ;)
We thought we’d share the recipe with everyone, since quite a few people have never heard of it. It’s also pretty tasty (with quite a bite). Please use caution while drinking though, having alcohol poisoning is NOT fun. Everclear can be quite potent, so know your limits and drink responsibly.
We used 190 proof Everclear for this recipe, which is NOT available in Pennsylvania and a few other states. We picked ours up in South Carolina last summer, but it’s also available in Maryland and most southern states.
Here is what you will need:
• Apple Cider
• Cinnamon Sticks
• Apple Juice
• Everclear 190 Proof
• Mason Jars (Optional)
This recipe is half for half. So we did half a gallon of everything.
You want to get a big pot and put in half a gallon of apple cider,
half a gallon of apple juice and 3 cinnamon sticks.
(we broke our sticks in half, which made 6)
DO NOT ADD THE EVERCLEAR YET!
You then want to stir it occasionally, and bring the pot to a boil.
Once it boils, remove it from the heat and take out the cinnamon sticks.
You then need to let it cool for a few hours.
Once it’s cooled, add in a 1/2 liter (liter, not gallon) of Everclear and stir it in well.
We bottled ours into small mason jars and then sealed them.
Now they are in the fridge waiting for us to crack them open this weekend. :)
Please DRINK RESPONSIBLY! I’m all for having a drink and a good time, but know your limits. If you try the recipe, let me know how you like it! Enjoy!
