A Wrench in my Christmas To-Do List Plans

I had a bit of an accident today and damaged my beloved gti. (Which I just got a few months ago.) I’m just hoping it’s covered thru my insurance, if not all of my Christmas project plans will most likely not be able to be completed due to my funds going to my car, instead of fabric and crafty stuff.

Things happen…

Ughh, I’m so sad and angry when I look at my car… but thankfully Travis was really calm about it and even put a positive spin on the situation & that is why I love him.

“God gave me you for the ups and downs. God gave me you for the days of doubt.
And for when I think I lost my way, there are no words here left to say.
It’s true, God gave me you.”
– Blake Shelton

Update 6:30PM: It’s covered! I just have to pay my deductible. :) My car is getting towed away tomorrow to the body shop for estimates, and if it’s repairable, then repairs will be started right away.

Christmas To-Do List

With Thanksgiving behind us and December hitting us in just a few days, I thought now would be the perfect time to get a list together of all the things I want to accomplish before Christmas Day arrives. So let’s get to it…

Make a Noel sign – Which seems fairly easy. Just some letters, paint and some hot glue sticks.

Tackle a No-Sew Christmas Tree Skirt – I already have the skirt template to use (Thanks to my F M-I-L, Future Mother-in-Law). So now I just need to purchase some yards of fabric (I’m thinking white linen and a green color) and tons of glue sticks.

DIY a Christmas Wreath – This is probably the project that I’m going to have to hardest time doing, just because I’m still not sure how I want it to look, or what colors, or how big, but I have a little more than 25 days to figure it out!

Make my own burlap stockings – I’d love to make some identical looking stockings, and I’ll need 3 of them. One for Travis, One for myself and one for the queen of the house… Coco.

Use our first apartment key as a keepsake ornament – This is actually already in progress. :)

DIY some Christmas Trees on the Cheap – This is just something that I’m going to have to wing-it. I’m sure I’ll make a bunch of them and only keep 1 and trash the rest, but we’ll see.

So, let’s recap. In the next 27-ish days I need to:
        – Make a Noel sign
        – Tackle a No-Sew Christmas Tree Skirt
        – DIY a Christmas Wreath
        – Make my own burlap stockings
        – Use our first apartment key as a keepsake ornament
        – DIY some Christmas Trees on the Cheap

Let the fun begin!
What are your DIY plans for this Holiday Season?

Sneak Peek before Black Friday Chaos

After doing some research online yesterday, I noticed that the living room set I want will be on sale on Black Friday! It’s regular price is $1,380 (without tax or delivery charge), but on Black Friday it’s marked down to a freakin’ awesome $979.99 (without tax or delivery charge). HELLO! So, on Black Friday at 6am you will see me in Value City Furniture flagging down a salesmen so we can get this deal done and I can get back to bed. :p

To make things even easier for myself and whichever salesmen I have to work with, I already went online and got the Value City Furniture Credit Card with the 0% interest for 6 months financing. That way all the salesmen has to do, is type in my ID number and schedule my delivery date. I’ve got this all under control. :)

Anyways, here is a sneak peak of our living room set: reclining sofa, reclining loveseat and Travis’ beloved recliner.

What deals will you be hitting up on Black Friday?
This is actually the first year EVER that I’m going out shopping on Black Friday, so please prepare warn me about what to expect.
